Terms of Service

1. These terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rentdeck, the software and website provided by Ahamed Asard Althaf Ahamed, based in Sri Lanka ("Rentdeck", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Rentdeck, you ("the operator", "you") agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Rentdeck is software that helps vehicle rental operators run their businesses, including managing bookings, recording vehicle handover and return, holding deposit records, generating documents, and related operational features. Rentdeck is a tool provided to the operator. It is not a marketplace, a public booking service, or a payment service between an operator and that operator's customers.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when you create your account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your account secure. You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and use Rentdeck for a lawful business purpose.

4. Fees, billing, and free trial

Rentdeck is offered on a subscription basis. Current pricing is published at rentdeck.lk/pricing or as otherwise agreed with you in writing. New accounts may begin with a free trial for the period stated at sign-up, during which no payment is required and no payment card is collected. After any free trial, the subscription is billed monthly in arrears — each invoice covers the month you have already used. Fees are stated in Sri Lankan Rupees, and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. Rentdeck is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to your invoice.

5. Cancellation and termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and you retain access until then. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect the service or other users. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Rentdeck for any unlawful purpose, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, not to interfere with or disrupt the service, not to copy, resell, or sublicense the service, and not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the software except to the extent permitted by law.

7. Data you enter about others

Rentdeck allows you to record personal data about your customers and drivers. You are the data controller of that data. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it, for informing those individuals as required by the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 (as amended), and for using the data lawfully. Our handling of that data is described in our Privacy Policy, where we act as your processor.

8. Intellectual property

Rentdeck and all software, design, and content that make up the service are owned by Ahamed Asard Althaf Ahamed and are protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active. You retain ownership of the data you enter into Rentdeck. Documents that Rentdeck generates for you to give to your customers carry your business's own identity, not Rentdeck's.

9. Availability and warranties

We work to keep Rentdeck available and reliable, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rentdeck will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under the law of Sri Lanka.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Rentdeck harmless from any claim arising out of your use of the service in breach of these Terms or of applicable law, including any claim relating to personal data you have entered about your customers or drivers.

12. Changes

We may update the service and these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
